Help Us Replace Mary’s Car to Keep Helping Others
My wife, Mary, has always been a caregiver and a source of support for so many people. Now, we’re in a difficult situation and could use some help.
Our car, a 2011 Chevrolet HHR LT, has served us well for years, but the engine recently failed and isn’t repairable. We’re now without a reliable vehicle, and replacing it is beyond our means. We’re hoping to raise $30,000 to purchase a dependable replacement that can accommodate my husband's walker and wheelchair, ensuring we stay mobile and continue to help those around us. Mary has been my rock through countless challenges. At 19, I was in a car accident that left me disabled and facing lifelong health complications. In 2004, a spinal disc injury caused paralysis from the waist down. Through surgeries, therapy, and her care, I regained the ability to walk, though I still face mobility challenges. I also manage type 1 diabetes, which adds to the complexity of our daily life.
Despite her own spinal cord issues and being retired, Mary works part-time to help with expenses and dedicates much of her time to helping others. She drives neighbors to appointments, the store, and wherever they need to go. She’s the kind of person who will always put others first, no matter how much she’s juggling. Without a working vehicle, not only do we lose our independence, but Mary can no longer assist others the way she loves to.
We’ve never asked for help like this before, and it’s humbling to do so now. If you’re able to contribute or share this with others, it would mean the world to us.
We also plan to donate our current car to a family in need, as it could still be used for parts.
Thank you for reading, and for any help you can offer—whether it’s a donation, sharing this campaign, or keeping us in your prayers.
- Sincerely, Husband Daniel
