Help Mary Ball-Bordwell's Family

To the dear friends of Mike and Mary. As we all know life is full of the unexpected. And that's what has happened to our friends.

Mike fought bravely through many medical challenges in the past several years that kept him out of work for the past year, leaving Mary the sole provider for the family.

Mike went in for a cardiac procedure where they found several blockages. While awaiting definitive treatment he suffered a cardiac arrest on 5/9/21 that strained his already struggling heart. He survived but had many broken ribs and needed a heart pump or LVAD to keep his blood circulating. Mary took a leave from work to be by his side, the whole time encouraging him to get better. He improved and was moved to the step down unit and plans made to come home which Mike was looking forward to. Mary was even learning how to care for his LVAD at home while he awaited a heart transplant.

Life unfortunately had other plans, as Mike suffered another cardiac arrest on 6/1. He was intubated and moved again to ICU. He developed an infection in his lungs and needed strong medicine to just keep his blood pressure up. Although he continued to fight, his body no longer could. Mike passed away 6/4/21 with his Dad, brother Jackson, Kaitlin and Mary by his side.

Mike and Mary have been devoted to one another for nearly 17 years. Mike helped raise Mary's daughter Katlin. Treated her as his own with love and support. They also share a 10 year old son, Matthew. Mike was a proud father to both children. He enjoyed attending all the sporting events and even helped with all the fundraisers.

We all know that they both were always willing to help if their friends needed a hand. Sometimes even perfect strangers. So please join us in helping Mary and her family. Between medical expenses and everyday bills, Mary could use our help. No matter how big or small, it would be extremely appreciated in this time of need.
