Hello! My name is Mary and I am currently in school at Appalachian State University. I am studying hard so I can reach my goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician and dedicate my life to serving animals. My dream is to one day work at a zoo or wildlife rehabilitation center, where I can care for the world’s most unique and vulnerable creatures.

In June 2025, App State’s Veterinary Technology program is having a study abroad trip to Zimbabwe. Going on this trip would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, and would be absolutely invaluable to my education and future goals. Below is a breakdown of the costs, as provided by Appalachian State University:

Program Cost: $7,990

Program cost includes airfare, most meals, and lodging. All fees associated with tourist site visits and activities. Please note - Students are responsible for the total program cost upon submitting the application and deposit. Refunds are contingent upon meeting the minimum enrollment of the program. If a student decides to withdraw before departure, that student may be eligible for a refund if the program has met minimum enrollment and is therefore viable. Non-billable costs are estimates only and will be affected by personal spending habits, currency fluctuations, etc. Prices listed in USD unless otherwise noted. Students are encouraged to start planning for their study abroad program costs well in advance.
