Momma Mary needs our help!

UPDATE!

She goes in for surgery to fix her the bony defect ,meningoencephalocele

And cerebral spinal fluid leak. 

Wednesday MAY 10th. She checks in @5am. Surgery is at 6:45. She will be allowed visitors once she out of recovery and into her regular room. She will be in the hospital for approximately 3-5 days as long as everything goes well. 

Once she is healed from the first surgery, as long as her pressure in her head regulates properly.They will start talks about scheduling the second to fix the Chiari malformation at the back of her skull. If her cranial pressure remains to high they will have to schedule a third surgery to put a shunt in her brain to fix that as well. 

My name is Michelle. My mother, Mary Holt has been through more than most . From beating cancer to now having Brain surgery.

Meningoencephalocele is a type of cephalocele where there is herniation of the brain tissue and overlying meninges through a defect in the cranium. A meningoencephalocystocele includes herniation of part of the ventricle. She will have Two surgeries that we know of so far. One to close the hole in front and one to check the cranial pressure behind the base of the skull.

So, in short… she has a hole where part of her skull has dissolved due to an untreated fracture years ago she has part of her brain coming through that hole and she’s actively leaking spinal fluid thru her nasal cavity. AND SHES STILL WORKING!! Her household is on a VERY limited income. Her husband is a disabled veteran who’s income pays the absolute basic and still is unable to cover everything.

Mary has inspired so many artists, mothers, daughters, sons, to just be yourself. She has hosted so many benefit events for others and has never asked for anything in return. She is a mom to MANY!!!

Mary needs y’all ! She’s still working despite part of her brain easing into her nasal cavity. Any swift movement can cause stroke like events to take place. She’s working to support her family. But little does she know…..

SHE HAS A HUGE FAMILY THAT SUPPORTS HER!! Her acts of selfishness and kindness has given her a permanent spot in many’s lives .
