Help Mary Race in Thailand to Represent Team USA

My name is Mary Nieh, and for the last 9 years, a sport named dragon boat has been my life. I love how the sport transforms people in the best of ways and it has allowed me to meet the most inspiring and hard working people in my life. I wouldn't be half the person or leader I am today without my involvement in the dragon boat community.
Racing on an international-level has been a long-time goal of mine, and I'm very excited to announce that I have been chosen as one of the paddlers to represent Team USA (U24) National Dragon Boat team at the 14th IDBF World Nations Championship in Pattaya, Thailand in August 2019!
Although I am only one person, representing the USA to me is a testament to the community that raised me (shout out to Lowell Dragon Boat, CDBA, UCI Dragon Boat, SCDBC, and Rising Tide Dragon Boat <3) . I've encountered a countless number of coaches, mentors, and role models that have poured so much time, energy, and passion into elevating their own teams and the dragon boat community at large. Being on Team USA gives me the chance to showcase their dedication and sacrifice, and also allows me the opportunity to do them proud.
One of my greatest accomplishments is being able to pay for 4 years of college without my parent's support (and with the help of financial aid). And to achieve that, I have held a part-time job, at times two, for most of my years in college. As much as I am excited to race for Team USA, the costs that are associated with an out-of-country trip are not something I can fully afford, especially fresh out of college.
Donations will go towards my airfare, lodging, and other mandatory race fees. Truly any amount is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraiser and for any of your support in making this trip possible. <3
