Help Maryam Pay for Her Cancer Treatment

When Maryam told me that she has to remove a cyst in her breast, I wasn’t worried. Maryam is the strongest and the most determined person I know. So of course I was shocked when I saw the report that Maryam has been diagnosed with cancer. How is this possible! She is a fitness trainer. The fittest and strongest woman you will know. I absolutely know that she will overcome this and win this fight - as many of you know, she is no stranger to overcoming the obstacles life has thrown at her. Maryam has migrated alone with her only son and been the sole caretaker for him in a foreign country with no immediate family close by. Cancer has nothing on her.
I first met Maryam as a personal trainer and over time she became more to me, more like a sister. Maryam is a single mother living with her son. I am a mother too so we have always talked about our dreams and wishes for our sons and the life we are building for them. She was working on building her own health and fitness business. In the meantime, she was training others, even via facetime and WhatsApp, through different time zones and even if she had to stay up until 3 am to keep her students accountable (I might have been that student myself!) Since her master’s degree Thesis was in health and fitness for patients with Multiple Sclerosis, she worked with some students who had M.S. for free. This is just to say that Maryam has a kind soul that never stopped helping others even when she needed help herself.

Maryam has always been the first person to help her family, friends, and community. I always joke around and have nick named Maryam Mother Teresa whenever she tells me about all her extra free training, helping friends, lending a hand to others. Now it is our time to help such an amazing and caring person.
As I mentioned, Maryam was working on building her Health and Fitness business while she was studying to go back to school to become a physical therapist. In October of 2020, the doctors found a cyst in her right breast, even though she had to have an open surgery, she chose a less expensive option to make sure she does not have to ask for others help. Since then, she was not allowed to work out and she kept feeling incredibly tired, which we thought it was due to not working out. She still never complained and powered through being the amazing Maryam she is! This just goes to show the incredible strength and determination Maryam has!
Here is a bit of background on Maryam’s journey so far. Since July of 2020 Maryam has been back and forth to different Doctors, Specialists countless times and was constantly overlooked or wrongfully diagnosed. When she finally had a Lasik surgery to remove the cyst, the doctor did not bother to clean more tissue, so they left cancerous tissue in her breast which grew to be what she has today! Maryam kept fighting to find answers about her health. It took many different doctors/specialists to finally get a proper diagnosis.
On April 16th, Maryam was told she needs to take care of the lumps in her breast immediately. Everything after that has been on fast forward. She had an open surgery and removed lots of breast tissue. Since then, she has been going through Radiotherapy to make sure the cancer cells are not growing.
Today marks the 2nd week since finding out for sure that Maryam has cancer. We know that it is Stage 0 but it will spread if she doesn’t continue Radiotherapy, which Maryam considered because of Financial issues. Maryam is not insured and the cost of her surgery and treatment is adding to her stress and anxiety of having to deal with Cancer.
I am raising money to help Maryam during her fight against cancer. Everyday, She will be at the hospital for treatment. The doctor just increased her number of treatments she needs to get. Maryam has exhausted all her resources to fund her surgery herself. But now that the cancer treatments are going to take longer, she needs your help to fight this battle. Help Maryam feel financially safe while she fights this battle. With your help, Maryam will pay for her treatments, pay the past due rent and avoid being evacuated, and pay off the mountain of debt she has acquired to fund her two surgeries.
Maryam is not the one to ask for support. I know that this will help her in a time of need. I do respectfully ask that you stream all your positive messages of healing and strength to Maryam and to this post so we can raise enough funds to support her cancer treatments and other expenses while she is recovering.
