Help Maryann "the watergirl" Maragioglio

Hi Everyone. My name is Brian, my girlfriend Annmarie and I have started this page to benefit her aunt and Godmother Maryann "the watergirl" Maragioglio.

Wednesday night we, like so many others in the five boroughs, were the victims of the hurricane Ida's flash flooding. It was sudden, without warning and devastating. Within 90 seconds the entire basement and first floor of the house that Maryann has resided in for 57 years, were under 8-14 feet of water. Thankfully we all made it through safely, no lives were lost, however our lives were suddenly upended and changed forever.

Maryanns apartment is a total loss, as is everything in the basement, yard and garage. There are very few items that she can salvage and while things can be replaced, the emotional and physical stress is nearly overwhelming

Maryann is a beloved pillar of the community and of the OLMC feast where she provides the lifters with water, ergo her nickname "the watergirl" Godmother to Annmarie, Andrew and Krystal, but pretty much "aunt" to everyone.

She's already overcome being hit by a car in 2010 which broke her back and required the insertion of titanium rods, she then had to learn to walk again. Due to these injuries she is unable to do many tasks we take for granted, included in these was the loss of her ability to drive and forcing her into early retirement.

In 2015 she fell and broke her shoulder which further limited her mobility. She had a "reverse shoulder replacement" which often causes her great pain.

She rarely if ever complains about her struggles, choosing to focus her energies on positivity and kindness. Most of you already know that she'd give you the shirt off her back. No one ever leaves her house hungry. Most of you know that before her misfortunes she was the one that helped everyone. Now she needs our help. She's lost all her clothing, furniture, keepsakes. Things that are priceless to her but she is taking it in stride.

The funds you donate will be used to aide Maryann with the clean up. The purchasing of new clothing, new furniture, food etc. Annmarie and Myself will expedite and allocate the funds for these purposes.
