Help Mason Taylor with Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hi, I am fundraising for Mason Taylor. Mason Taylor has several chronic illnesses, many of which are rare. She got sick 4 1/2 years ago during her senior year of high school, and has gotten progressively worse ever since. She was previously enrolled in college but is no longer able to attend because of lack of access to accommodations, which creates a barrier to her success. She is a full time wheelchair user because she cannot stand or walk for long periods of time as a result of severe, 24/7 vertigo, partial paralysis, Hemoplagic Migraines, and other undiagnosed disorders. However she can use crutches and a walker to help her stand.

In October 2021, her health took a turn for the worse. She started throwing up multiple times day, could not keep food or water down and there was no explanation at all; it just started completely out of the blue. By November it had gotten to the point where was severely dehydrated and not receiving the amount of nutrients she should have been since she wasn't eating for almost 2 months, so she went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital a first time. She was there for a week and multiple tests and scans were run, but they all came back normal.
During this hospital visit, they put in a PICC line so she could receive fluids and nutrients without having to put an IV in each time as all of her veins had blown. She was sent home with no answers, and a few days later she was back in the hospital because she still was throwing up and not able to keep liquids down. They ran more tests and scans, and a trauma surgeon determined that her spleen was enlarged from a mono flare and pushing down on all of her organs, which was causing her to throw up and not be able to eat. For 3 months she was at home receiving fluids 3 times a week through her PICC line, and only tolerating liquids or very soft foods, still in pain everyday, and on nausea meds to keep her from throwing up. In the first week of March, she was admitted to the hospital for a third time. During this visit, it was determined that her spleen has shrunk by one centimeter and is most likely not causing issues, even though she has all the same symptoms from when everything started in October. She was discharged then admitted just 2 days later due to the inability to swallow and struggling to breathe. She has since been discharged and is trying to find ways to help herself until she can see specialists that may have some answers.

At this point, the hospital is no longer able to help her because they have done every possible test and scan and everything comes back fine. All the doctors and specialists she has seen don't know what is going on and want her to go to UT Southwestern in Texas, which is a specialty medical center, where she can get the care she needs and hopefully figure out what is going on with her body. There will be lots of rare disease testing along with autonomic and genetic testing, to help find the root cause of her symptoms.

However, UT Southwestern is very expensive and she can not afford it, even though it is vital to her health and wellbeing that she be admitted there. I am writing this fundraiser so that Mason Taylor can get the funds she needs in order to help pay her hospital and ER bills from the past several months, as well as afford to go to UT Southwestern in order to see the specialists she needs to. Mason Taylor, her family, and I would greatly appreciate any help that you are able to contribute toward her cause. Thank you.
