Help Master Vink and Family Through Tough Times

Greetings martial arts family members,

I’m reaching out to you all in hopes to help everyone know what is going on with one of our long-time family members as well as ask for your help. I’m sure many of you know Master Troy Vink, from Tea, South Dakota. Master Vink started Taekwondo under Grandmaster Grieme back in 1981. Moving through the ranks, he showed his abilities in the dojang, the competition floor, and his community. Master Vink won many competitions, demonstrating his knowledge and skills in the martial arts over the years.

Master Vink not only studies Taekwondo, but also teaches the martial arts skills to the community. Master Vink has been teaching for the Sioux Falls Community Education program for over 30 years. Over those 30 years, he has been a strong leader, leading by example each and every class. He has raised a wonderful group of students, black belts, and families, who have gone on to become wonderful citizens and contributors of society.

Master Vink gives his all in everything he does. He is always there for his students and has been Grandmaster Grimes right hand person for many decades. With all that he does, I hope you all can help him in his time of need.

Master Vink was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer in February 2024. Since then, he has been battling this issue, yet not letting it slow him down. Through it all, he continued to teach Taekwondo class and work until the last 2 weeks of December when he was hospitalized. He is now at home for treatment and not letting anything get him down. With that, the Vink family needs our help. Costs can weigh heavily on a family. I have set up a Go-Find Me page to help lift the pressures of the Vink family.
