Help Mastros Chicago kitchen staff laid off
Donation protected
The pandemic is keeping restaurants closed for longer than anyone could have forseen. That is why we are continuing our fundraiser to phase 2 to help another hardworking section of our restaurant: The back of house (kitchen staff for those non-industry folks). Thank you for all who donated for our first phase! Those funds for the first month of donations have been distributed to the serving support staff, and they are all very grateful! This phase of the fundraiser is still being put on by the servers and bartenders at Mastro's Steakhouse Chicago, but this time it's to help our heroes behind the scenes - the kitchen crew. Line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers and more, could really use some extra help right now. Many are potentially in a very dire situation, having to take care of themselves and their families with no income from the restaurant. Though we are all currently out of work, we want to recognize that they are the ones with greater need, and want to help support the kitchen crew that makes our jobs possible in the first place.
We hope to raise $15,000 total between both phases of our fundraiser by the end of May, and distribute all phase 2 donations to all the back of house staff at Mastro's Chicago that request it. Amount per employee will be based on need.
