Help Matko recover from his severe stroke

I am starting this for my dear friend Sandra and her husband Matko Maroevic. I will try to summarize their situation the best I can:



Matko just opened up a restaurant with a partner a couple of years ago and Sandra is a stay at home mom taking care of two little boys. On April 3rd, 2020, Matko suffered a severe stroke that left him with partial paralyses on left side of his body. Not being able to work he left his family with no income. Due to the severe stroke, three lung infections, bladder infection, sepsis, craniectomy, Matko was put into a medical induced coma for 44 days. Medical staff were waiting for him to die and did not move his body the whole time leaving him with severe contractures of joints. Afterwards, he was taken to a rehab center which was understaffed due to Covid and Matko was neglected making his recovery slow, painful and unsuccessful. A year later Matko is still partially paralyzed and is undergoing hardcore therapy away from home making the situation more costly than it already is. The funds are running low and he still has a long difficult road in front of him having to relearn to walk and perform basic human functions again. A week ago he had rhinoplasty surgery to replace the missing part of his skull. Please help this family survive another one to two years of medical bills, rent costs and basic life needs. If Matko cannot get the therapy he desperately needs he may permanently lose functionality of some extremities and brain functions among other things. His only goal is to get back on his feet so he can work and support his family. Anything you can spare is GREATLY appreciated.
