Help Matopo High School Re-Open Safely

My name is Vezisizwe Bhebhe, a former student of Matopo High School. I am working with Mnqobi , Magayisa , Moses , Dumani , Sifiso, Naomi , Gwaringa and Ndumiso on this fundraiser to help our former school to open safely in the light of this Covid 19 virus .

Last year (2020) Matopo High school was badly hit by covid 19. I got hold of Mzingaye Mathwasa (our former school mate ) who is now the deputy headmaster of the school to find out how and what we can do to help the school as former students in order to make the school covid 19 ready when they re-open. He told me that they are looking at improving the ventilation in some dormitories. This will involve changing windows, replacing small ones with bigger ones, painting the dormitories and installing the ceilings. That will also help the school in keeping hostels clean and easy to sanitize.

We came together with the above mentioned team and decided to create this fundraiser to raise money to buy windows and paint for some boys and girls dormitories in Matopo High School. All the money raised here will be sent to the school directly. The school will in turn buy and implement the renovation and report back to us.
We will keep everyone informed on the progress, through various WhatsApp groups and Facebook. We will send pictures and videos of the progress .
As a team we will be very transparent to all donors and account for every cent donated. Every team member is working on a voluntary basis , no donation will go to any member of the organizing team but all donations will go directly the school.

This is very personal to me and I believe it is to you. I spent the whole 6 best years of my life at this school. I know it is to you and maybe to your children and relatives. I remember the havoc chicken pox would cause. I can only imagine what havoc the CoVid 19 will cause if these measures are not in place . You and I can make the job of all the members of staff easier by helping them with our contribution on this platform . No amount is too small to make a difference .

I and the whole team here appreciate every donation and every donor. Our gratitude can not even compare to that of the school kids back at Matopo , the parents and the school staff.
