Help Matt & Ashley

Hello everyone! I’m Matt & Ashley’s cousin

On June 12, 2022 Matthew was in a dirt bike accident and experienced a severe and traumatic injury. His wife, Ashley and two boys, Kellen (3) and Levi (1) also witnessed the accident. This injury shattered his tib/fib and ankle. He required emergency surgery to put several external rods in his leg/ankle In order to keep everything in place and allow for the damaged tissue, muscle and ligaments to relax. On June 23, he had another surgery to reconstruct and repair the damage that was done. During the 6 hour surgery Matt had 3 plates and over 20 screws placed to put his ankle and tib fib back together.

This is a life changing injury that will require Matthew will be unable to walk for the next 10 weeks and after that will eventually have a lot of physical therapy. Matthew is a local firefighter/paramedic and will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time due to the severity of the accident. The doctors goal is to get him back to full physical activity in January. Matt and Ashley will now only have Ashley income. This financial loss will put a lot of strain on the family along with all the other day to day stressors and changes they are going to experience as a result of the accident.
