Matt is a 29 year old welder/fabricator from Lacey Township NJ. He worked days as a fabricator/mechanic and nights in his own shop building custom cars and mud trucks.
After a few long years of hard work and dedication Matt was able to buy a house. Matt is the kind of guy who can't sit still. He's always on the go, always building or fixing something, always helping someone out.
In August of 2019 Matt was involved in a SXS accident and had to be flown to Jersey Shore Hospital. Matt’s injuries were major & he had to undergo neck surgery due to fracturing & dislocating his C5 & C6 vertebrae. Matt is also suffering from a spinal cord injury. The doctors realigned Matt with metal plates but his paralysis is still severe.
After 6 months in the hospital and 14 months of outpatient physical therapy Matt has gained back slight movement and feeling down to his toes. He is still wheelchair bound and unable to stand without the assistance of therapists.
Matt continues to go to intense physical therapy yet improvements are very slow. To increase his chances of getting back on his feet, he is going for a medical procedure known as stem cell therapy.
Due to stem cell therapy not being FDA approved in the United states, arizona based company BioXcellerator has a treatment center in Columbia. Columbia is also ranked #1 in the world in stem cell therapy.
Stem cell therapy is not covered by insurance and treatments must be paid for in full prior to starting treatment. Matt will need to travel to Colombia 4 times over the course of a year to complete his procedure.
This is the only chance Matt has to repair the damage to his spinal cord. Any help is greatly appreciated.
