During my 4 years here in California I have met an amazing amount of people. Friendships that I will always cherish. Having laughs, good times, and most of all a good professional relationship. My family and I came to CA knowing only my brother who shortly after took a job in WA state and had to leave. This left us alone, maybe even feeling out of place but all the people we have encountered here have been so kind and made us almost feel like family.
California has been amazing and so much fun with all its unique wonders and singular experiences, the people especially. Unfortunately it has also given us more than our fair share of struggles, hardships and losses. We have slowly depleted our savings over the course of living here as a result. The conclusion is the cost of living here has been too great.
I have happily accepted a government job with the state of Nevada. Doing basically what I do now except servicing 700+ vehicles and pieces of equipment for the city. Instead of helping out people and families like I have done and enjoyed for the last 22 years of my life and career. I will miss the generations of families I have helped, the great stories I got to hear from all of you. Being able to make a difference to those in need.
Along with being super excited for our future changing in the next 3-4 weeks we have a lot of stress and a very long list of things to get done. The biggest struggle is being the costs involved. We are looking at a lot of moving expenses, pet deposits, and a down payment on a rental house or apartment. As some of you know that can be very expensive now-a-days. If things go well enough ideally we would like to make the step into a home purchase. Making our upcoming very temporary and getting a month to month lease.
I know with the Christmas season and Covid everything is different now for all of us, but if any of you can help for a good cause and a family trying to get ahead please do. Any and all donations will go 1st towards moving expenses, after that down payment to get into our next home.
