Family, friends and football – for our friend Matteo, these have always been the most important things in life. Two years ago, shortly after he found out he was going to be a dad, he received a shock diagnosis: ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a serious disease of the nervous system that causes progressive muscle paralysis.

Since then, Matteo has not only been unable to play his favorite sport, but at the age of only 32, he is in a wheelchair and speaking is becoming increasingly difficult. His 2-year-old son loves his dad more than anything and especially enjoys the moments when they are driving around in the wheelchair together.

Matteo's loved ones do everything they can to help him live a little normality. Nevertheless, he is dependent on care around the clock and a large part of the care costs are not covered by the state in Italy. We have created this fundraising campaign to financially support him and his family in their battle against this terrible disease and to manage their everyday life in the best way possible.

Dear Matteo, you are a fighter - and giving up has never been an option for you! We are taking this positive energy as an inspiration and, also to draw additional attention to this campaign, we will cycle the distance from Munich to your hometown near Vicenza in the middle of June. We are convinced that we’ll be able to bring you the news that we have reached our fundraising goal.

Famiglia, amici e calcio – per il nostro amico Matteo queste sono sempre state le cose più importanti della vita. Due anni fa, poco dopo aver scoperto che sarebbe diventato padre, ha ricevuto una diagnosi scioccante: SLA (Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica), una grave malattia neurodegenerativa progressiva che porta alla perdita della forza muscolare.

Oggi, Matteo non solo non è più in grado di dedicarsi al suo sport preferito, ma a soli 32 anni, è costretto alla sedia a rotelle. Anche solo parlare diventa ogni giorno sempre di più una sfida. Il suo bimbo ha due anni e impazzisce per il suo papà più di ogni altra cosa al mondo, passa ogni istante con lui e adora farsi portare in giro sulla sedia a rotelle.

Tutti gli amici e i familiari vicini a Matteo si impegnano e cercano di aiutarlo per permettergli un po' di normalità. Tuttavia, Matteo necessita assistenza 24 ore su 24; gran parte dei costi necessari non sono coperti dallo Stato. Abbiamo creato questa campagna di raccolta fondi per sostenere finanziariamente lui e la sua famiglia nella loro lotta contro questa terribile malattia.

Caro Matteo, arrendersi non è mai stata un'opzione per te! Non possiamo che prenderti come esempio da seguire, il tuo spirito combattivo e positivo ci ha ispirati a iniziare una raccolta fondi affinché tu possa ricevere tutto quello di cui hai bisogno e che meriti! A metà percorreremo in bicicletta la distanza da Monaco di Baviera fino a casa tua vicino a Vicenza, convinti di poterti personalmente portare la notizia di aver raggiunto il nostro obiettivo dell’iniziativa.

Familie, Freunde und Fußball – für unseren Freund Matteo war das immer das Wichtigste im Leben. Vor 2 Jahren, kurz nachdem er erfahren hat, dass er Papa wird, kam die Schock-Diagnose: ALS (Amyotrophe Lateralsklerose), eine schwere Erkrankung des motorischen Nervensystems, bei der es zu einer fortschreitenden Muskellähmung kommt.

Seitdem kann Matteo nicht nur seinen Lieblingssport nicht mehr ausüben, sondern sitzt mit nur 32 Jahren im Rollstuhl und das Sprechen fällt ihm zunehmend schwerer. Sein 2-jähriger Sohn liebt seinen Papa über alles, genießt jeden Augenblick mit ihm und lässt sich am liebsten auf dem Rollstuhl durch die Gegend fahren.

Matteos Umfeld tut alles dafür, ihm soweit es geht ein wenig Normalität zu ermöglichen. Dennoch ist er rund um die Uhr auf Betreuung angewiesen und ein Großteil der Pflegekosten werden in Italien nicht vom Staat übernommen. Wir haben diese Spendenaktion ins Leben gerufen, um ihn und seine Familie im Kampf gegen diese schlimme Krankheit finanziell zu unterstützen.

Lieber Matteo, du bist eine Kämpfernatur, die ihresgleichen sucht – und aufgeben ist für dich noch nie eine Option gewesen! Diese positive Energie nehmen wir uns zum Vorbild und werden, auch um zusätzlich auf diese Kampagne aufmerksam zu machen, Mitte Juni die Strecke von München bis in deine Heimatstadt in der Nähe von Vicenza (Norditalien) mit dem Fahrrad zurücklegen. Wir sind fest davon überzeugt, dir dort die Nachricht überbringen zu können, dass wir das Spendenziel erreicht haben.
