Help Matteo, Mel, Zoe & Eddie rebuild their home

On December 30, 2021, our beloved home in Superior, Colorado was completely destroyed by the Colorado Marshall Fire. We have fortunate to be alive, as it all happened very quickly and we had no evaluation warning. Our warnings to get out were flames on our back porch and smoke inside the house. We could only grab our passports, nothing else. Unfortunately had to leave the Guinea pigs behind and we couldn't find our cat Onyx. :-(

We have a lot to rebuild and a lot of unknowns. 1,000+ homes have been destroyed and we are one of the many families displaced in our community starting to long and painful journey of rebuilding our lives, once we have lost everything.

 

So many of you have reached out offering to help. We feel your LOVE and support. Thank you! We are now staying in a furnished rental in Arvada, CO until the end of May. We are looking for a longer term rental in Boulder County starting June 1st where will live in until our house is rebuild (any leads are very appreciated and welcome!). This may take 2+ years, given the number of properties that were destroyed.

We have immediate necessities and don't need any clothing at this time. Any donation will help to help us rebuild our home as due to the recent increases in construction costs, rebuilding will cost more than insurance will cover. Unfortunately the vast majority of Marshall Fire victims are in a similar situation and our Insurers never told us we were not fully covered as we all assumed we were. This is a broader issue affecting all homeowners in North America and possibly beyond. Call your insurance company today and ask if your dwelling coverage is sufficient to rebuild in today's market. We are starting to advocate for all of you so you won't find yourself in a similar situation.
