Help Matthew's Family in Their Time of Need

Dear Friends & Family,

We are saddened to hear the news of Matthew Erickson’s passing. Matthew John Erickson, was born in Minnesota, March 11, 1977, and passed away May 8, 2024. He was 47 years old. The family faces the great tragedy of this unforeseen loss.

Matt has left behind three children, Sean, Colton, and Helayna. Losing a dad is unimaginable. This family will never be the same without him, and neither will anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Matt was so incredibly kind and caring, fun loving and hard-working.

Matt was an artist who created metal sculptures, paintings, carvings, leather work, and all types of art. He loved nature and animals. Another passion was plants and mushrooms where he had the knowledge to know the names of the species. Matt was also a man of nature. He knew how to forage food & craft with nature. Matt grew up playing baseball and played Rugby as an adult. Matt enjoyed renaissance fairs and dressing up as a viking warrior. He was a passionate, loving, warm, and earnest man.

His passing leaves behind the family that he worked so very hard to support. His children have experienced so much loss and the support of friends and family are crucial in this time.

With such an unexpected death, the family is left in a difficult situation. Besides funeral arrangements, his children are left with a huge financial burden. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Matt’s immediate family.

Matt will be so deeply missed by every single person who knew him, and we hope that the memory of his kind, wonderful soul will live on forever.
