Maureen suffered a stroke and needs support

My mother, Maureen McCauley, had a stroke. The location of her stroke is on the midline Callosum Splenium or Corpus Callosum. Besides serving as a bridge between the two hemispheres, the corpus callosum also plays its role in higher cognitive functions, such as memory, learning, executive functions, three-dimensional vision, and visual reaction time. She has many more appointments and a long road ahead of her. She’s unable to work or drive for the foreseeable future, and her job denied her any disability benefits. I am working on the appeal. I am also working on getting her on SS disability temporarily. Mama has received some help from churches and assistant agencies, but it’s not enough. On top of how difficult this has been on her and her loved ones financially, things are getting tough. Tim, her boyfriend, is working his regular full-time job and has taken on side jobs to keep them afloat, causing my mom to be home alone more. She has fallen down the stairs trying to take their dogs out and become confused and unsure of what’s happening, like thinking things have happened that haven't. She's called me upset, thinking I left without saying goodbye to her when I was never there, recalling very detailed accounts of what I and others had done with her when none of that happened. She lives in North Carolina I'm in Colorado. She has dizzy/fainting spells--overall, she is experiencing dementia-like symptoms. We finally have a great new neurologist getting a great plan of action put together that is building hope for all of us that she will be able to have her agency back one day! Everything takes so much time, and in that time, bills and hospital/doctor’s bills are just piling on, with being unable to work causing severe financial stress.
