Hello! We're Max (that's me!), Rose (my partner), and Red (our friend).

We're aiming to move in together at the beginning of August to help each other financially. We need help with covering the moving fees!

Details of the move:

Red will be moving from Georgia to North Carolina to move in with Rose and I, as we transfer from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom unit in our current apartment complex. We're in contact with the property manager to make this happen, and they're on board - so things are already in motion and we're all but guaranteed a unit to move into August 1st, which is perfect as our current lease ends at the end of July.

Rose and I have been struggling financially for years, and these recent months have been especially difficult for us. I work to support the two of us and our dog Billie with my income, and all of our income goes toward living expenses. This is why the move is going to be really hard to cover on our side, so we're asking for your help!

Here's the outline of the fees we expect to encounter:

First month rent: $1,000
Pet rent: $25
Security deposit: $500
Pet deposit: $300 (Potentially, our initial payment of the pet deposit may transfer to the new unit - BUT this has not been confirmed with management, so better safe than sorry.)
Utilities: $400+ (Our power bill is not a flat rate, and we may encounter fees to transfer services to our new address.)

Total: $2,225

The goal of this fundraiser is higher than the total of this list, to go toward any unexpected and unforeseen costs, as well as living expenses like groceries since we'll have to take time off of work during the move. If we receive the maximum amount of donations, all of our immediate necessary experiences will be covered, but everything extra is appreciated and a big help.

All three of us are disabled and LGBTQ. We're hoping that by launching this fundraiser during pride month, that'll help this fundraiser be shared and us get the support that we need to move forward with this hopeful new chapter in our lives. We've been friends for years and have visited in person, so we know that we connect well, and have high hopes for all the improvements that moving in together will bring us.
