Help May, Muhammad and their family leave Gaza safely now.

Hi everyone

I am Jo, a retired grandma in Ontario Canada.

The Barakat's and I connected in early February, sharing what life is like in our parts of the world. After weeks of messages, emails and facetiming, it became evident that I could help with their living situation.

Once their goal is met, the funds will be transferred to their designated extended family who will submit paperwork and payment for them to leave Gaza through the Rafah border.

Below is their story.

Message from Muhammad...

I never wanted to ask for help to flee my homeland, the place I had always dreamed of settling (Gaza). However, here I am.

The ravages of war are unbearable. Our homes were covered with dust and we lost all the memories and stories we had collected in the years of our lives in these long, harsh days.

We lived through all types of genocide, bombing, slaughter, and starvation.

I am Muhammad. I ask for your help in facilitating the escape of my family from Gaza to Egypt, knowing that even today, the exit fee today is $5,000 US dollars per person.

My wife's name is May B M Sayam.

My name is Muhammad O D Barakat.

We have added my family to our link as life has become even worse.

We lived in a house happily before the war. Before that, we were in Turkey because my wife was studying there as a nurse. When her studies ended, we decided to return to our homeland and family.

I worked as a programmer and used to have a great job. May was working as a nurse.

Our beautiful family house was destroyed and we fled to the Rafah area where we have been living in one room with 3 families.

Our hope is to live in peace, away from fear, destruction and hunger.

Here, there is no good food and no clean drinking water.

We have lived a difficult life for more than 214 days.

Now we are being forced out of Rafah to move once again to an area that has previously been totally bombed out.
