Maya Rosales graduated from high school in 2020 and is currently attending community college to complete her college transfer degree then on to a four year program in Behavioral Health Sciences. A few months after Maya’s 19th birthday, she noticed a large lump forming on her neck and a trip to her doctor confirmed a devastating diagnosis of Metastatic Thyroid Cancer, an aggressive malignant tumor that has spread to her lymph nodes. She is scheduled to have her thyroid, as well as all of the lymph nodes in the right side of her neck, removed in a few weeks. Maya has health coverage through her mom’s health insurance plan but only a portion is covered. As a first year college student working as a wine tasting associate at a local winery, the medical bills are taking a financial toll on Maya and her family and Maya hasn’t even had her first surgery - scheduled January 5, 2022. Following surgery, she’ll have radiation treatment and scans to see if the cancer has metastasized further.
This is where we all can step in to help my life-long friend and her sweet, amazing, daughter who has grown up alongside my own boys - she’s a beautiful soul that I’ve watched grow over the years from the most adorable toddler into a gorgeous, loving, kind, caring, full of life young lady. Maya is just beginning her adult life, and she needs to battle this cancer with her whole being - worrying about financial ruin is not an option. Every single dollar you donate will go towards Maya’s medical bills so that she can concentrate on kicking this cancer’s arse.
