Help Maya Recover from Diabetic Ketoacidosis
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my sweet dog, Maya. She's a 9-year-old pup who just went through a terrifying medical emergency - and while she's finally home from the hospital, her recovery is far from over.
Five days ago, Maya was rushed to the vet and diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious and life-threatening complication of diabetes. She was hospitalized for two days, was severely dehydrated, and her body was releasing dangerous levels of ketones. The vet team immediately began intensive treatment to stabilize her.
Due to a concerning heart murmur, the doctors performed an echocardiogram to assess her heart, and she also needed an abdominal ultrasound to check her internal organs for any complications. These procedures were critical to making sure she could safely recover, but the cost has been overwhelming.
Yesterday, Maya was finally stable enough to come home - and while i am so grateful to have her back , she still requires 24/7 monitoring. She now wears a patch that continuously reads her blood glucose levels, and she needs insulin injections twice a day to keep her stable.
The vet bills from her emergency care, diagnostics, and continuous treatment have added up quickly. Maya is the sweetest girl and I want to do everything I can to ensure she is comfortable and healthy. That is why I'm reaching out for support.
If you're able to contribute in any way, it would mean the world to me and to Maya. Every little bit helps - and if you can't donate, simply sharing this page would make a big difference.
Thank you so much for your kindness, love and support. Maya is a fighter, and with your help, I'm hopeful she'll continue to heal and have many more happy years ahead,
I can't thank you enough,
