I hope you are doing well!
My name is Maya Keys and I am a senior in my Musicology program at Sorbonne University and equally at Conservatoire Issy-les-Moulineaux for the Diplome d'etudes musicales, studying with Mihi Kim.
I was recently accepted to study with Sergio Pallotelli and Eric Lamb in the Perugia Flauti Al Castello Masterclass this upcoming August!
I currently play in Lab'Opera of the Courbevoie Conservatoire, a professional opera production company - this year's production is Faust by Charles Gounod. Additionally, I also play in my conservatoire's Symphony Orchestra, and the Etesias Orchestra, an orchestra comprised of students and young professionals. I am a mentee of the National Flute Association Young Artist Mentorship Program and Black Lives in Music Mentorship Scheme. Both organizations work to pair young music students with professional musicians on guidance with their CVs, social media presence, and such.
I made my professional flute solo debut at Morley College, London in May 2024. In August 2022, I was invited by the Chineke! Junior Orchestra to join in its European Summer Tour where we performed at the KKL Luzern for the Lucerne Festival, the Konzerthaus for the Young Euro Classic, and the Concertgebouw.
In April 2024, I earned a 2nd prize in the Vanves Flute Competition in the Perfectionnement Division, playing the Concerto in G Major by Karl Stamitz. In May 2023, I earned a 3rd prize in the Vanves Flute Competition in the same division, playing Sontatine by Pierre Sancan. In February 2023, I received a 2nd prize honorable mention in the Prodige Art Competition.
