Help Maypop get to the Farmers Market!
Donation protected
Hi :-) My name is McCall and I organize Maypop Farmstead.
A little about our work here at Maypop-
We work to rescue and rehabilitate mistreated animals, raise chickens and ducks for eggs (for the Nashville Community Fridge and Sugar Danny’s cookies- find him at market!!!), grow veggies and herbs for fresh produce in the community fridge as well as for meal prep for other local mutual aid projects, make cheese and other milky treats to share with our milk-loving community, and teach horse back riding lessons to folks of all ages!
For income, the farm relies on weekly horseback riding lessons and my personal *smut* work as well as pop up farm events and tours - which typically covers the costs of hay, food, water, electric, etc. which allows us to contribute to our local community.
Earlier this spring / summer, a local farmers market reached out asking us to serve kombucha at their weekly market. I was thrilled and overjoyed!!!! Despite the fact that going to market comes with a high overhead that was not planned in our budget until year 5 (we are at growing season 3 / year 3 currently)- I jumped at the opportunity!
I am asking for financial support to cover the investment that it will take to get to kombucha to market- commercial kitchen costs, new equipment, licensing, etc!
Thank you for reading! Thank you for your time and energy and support. I love you.
