Help me and La Poche to keep going after the flood

Hi. My name is Matthew Forbes. I opened La Poche downtown Guelph after many trials and tribulations. It has been open since July and it has slowly been gaining momentum as a single chair barbershop, a coworking space and a sweet and cozy quiet bar at night. I recently had my capacity increased from 18 to 30 and things were looking up, even in January! Until yesterday when a malfunctioning HVAC system caused a main Sprinkler to freeze and burst in the space above mine. Many thousands of litres of water rained down into my space and ruined so much. There is a crew there now and the landlord is taking care of the building. Unfortunately, I am unable to work and here’s where you come in. I have lost many barbering tools and I have no income from any of the businesses that were started here. I’m hoping to be back in the space in three weeks tops but I have no savings to see me through. Without your help La Poche may not return to the downtown.

Update! The dehumidifier is doing their work in the basement where there was once 8 inches of water and there is another on the main floor sucking water out of the walls and ceiling. The ceiling has been torn down to about the middle of the room and a lot of the pictures on the walls have been safely and generously stored at Miijidaa across the street and at Amy’s house and at Paul’s house and mine too. The floor is still quite wet and Lisa and moved the barber chair today and it was very wet underneath. I haven’t looked at the barber tools again but I’ll be back tomorrow to check in. I want to thank everyone for their support. The support I’ve gotten warms my heart on these very cold days and nights. I am extremely grateful for the people in my community who want to see La Poche carry on.
