Help Me and Ms Olive Kick Cancer's Ass
Donation protected
This is Ms Olive, an absolute miracle of a dog and she has a *very* treatable cancer. After I lost both of my dogs a couple of months apart in early 2022 and had my own brush with the Big C, I waited a year before I even considered adopting another dog. One day, I got an email from BARCS here in Baltimore that they were so over capacity that they were waiving all fees.
I was at BARCS in less than an hour. I met so many dogs! But the very last dog I met was scared to death. She was shaking. When I put my fingers up against the cage, she leaned in and licked them. I wanted to take her home right away, but she'd come in as a stray and was on a hold in case her owner showed up to look for her. She also needed to be spayed. I told them I wanted her and a hold was put on her for me unless she was claimed by her owner.
3 days later, July 3, 2023, I brought her home and she and I are thoroughly coupled. She adores me and the feeling is absolutely mutual.
Now she's got cancer. I spent $3K, basically every penny I had, to figure out if it was treatable or not. It IS and the prognosis is actually very good! We can beat this!
Doc said quick treatment after a fairly minor surgery means probably 90% she'll kick this thing's ass and live a long, normal life.
It's just not cheap and I simply can't afford it. I blew everything in the bank on the diagnostics because OF COURSE I WOULD.
You can help and I so hope that your will! She's such a great girl and, functionally, kinda my spouse now. I sprung her out of doggie jail, but she saved me waaay more than I saved her.
If you can and are willing, we will be eternally grateful. She's a damn good girl and deserves a shot at at least a decade more of being awesome AF and the Very Best Girl.
Please help if you can.
