I am Mona Hijazi, a Palestinian mother of 3 children

From the depths of Gaza, from the depths of darkness, despair, hunger, fear and weakness, I tell you my story.

I am Mona. I am 28 years old. I have been carrying the burdens of life on my shoulders since my childhood.

My journey began at the age of 15, when we lost my dear father, my beloved and caring support, may God have mercy on him and admit him to Paradise.

But this was not enough. We then lost my dear big brother [Hossam], who was martyred in a previous war on the Gaza Strip. We were devastated after that, and we were deeply saddened. My mother became very ill, and to this day my mother is sick and suffering. May God give her patience and protect her..

She later got married and gave birth to 3 children, [Yazan, Kenan and Kenzi] [7 years - 5 years - 2 years]..

I thought that I could build a new life with my small family, but fate was not our friend. Misfortunes struck us again. The war began on October 7. The suffering began, and while we were trying to cope with the difficult circumstances, our house and the homes of our entire family were bombed, and my dear uncle was martyred. And his entire family, may God have mercy on them.

I found myself, my husband, my children, and my sick mother in the street. We found ourselves homeless, living without protection. We were displaced several times and we still cannot find a safe place for ourselves.

Now after 183 days from inside Gaza in the war, I, Mona, call you with a broken-hearted voice, asking you for help to save my children and my sick mother so that we can live in peace and tranquility.

We need help to get out of these harsh, tragic circumstances. I cannot bear to lose another person from my family.

We have endured a lot, but we are in a lot of pain. We can no longer bear the pain. My children do not deserve to live in terror, hunger, and constant fear.

This is my story. I hope that my voice will be heard and you will support me. I trust in the spaciousness of your hearts and your humanity. Please, let us work together, hand in hand, to restore the safe lives of my children. They can laugh again, go to school again. I want to see the light of hope in their eyes and in the eyes of my sick mother. My dear, beautiful mother, who was exhausted by the war. My mother is old and sick. I want to see my mother relieved of this torment. They deserve a better life.

Today, Wa need to evacuate from Gaza sooner than ASAP, every minute counts for our lives, and I don't want to lose them! by your support we will get them out of this danger!

That being said, I'm here today as a last chance and the ONLY solution left for Us to evacuate from Gaza.

The only way for us to leave is through Egypt and there, the cost is very high for them to leave, so every donation counts for us and our lives.

The cost Breakdown:

the plan is to get evacuate us directly from Gaza to Egypt.

Permit to leave Gaza through Egypt: a total of 49,000 euro, where we need at least 7,000 euro minimum per person to get the permit only!

A total of around 8500 euros to cover our stay in Egypt and our cost of living for 2-3 months, until we find a solution for them to leave to another country.

A total of € 1,711 will be used to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.25 per donation).

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference to my family's safety. The funds raised will be used transparently and efficiently to ensure their safety.

As we used to help and support others, we do look forward to get the support from everyone for the safety of my family. I don't wish to anyone in this world to get through what they got and still getting through every singly day!
