Help us move to a safe home.

Hi everyone My name is Marley Durand. I am a Haitian transgender woman who’s on SSI for my BPD and Schizophrenia. 

I have to move out of Philadelphia ASAP as I fear for the safety for me and my wife who are both transgender women. 

Currently. I am in dire need to move out of my neighborhood. Me and my wife have experienced a lot of physical and sexual harassment and violence against us during the past two years we lived in South West Philadelphia. Last September my wife was attacked and strong arm robbed and thrown on the ground on the corner of 60th and Kingsessing and a few days later around that same week. A group of 4 young men from that same block attacked me and my wife  and I was beaten with a 2x4 and  broke my arm back in September. I had a complete radial fracture and I had to heal from late September to December. And recently this past weekend 3 different black transgender women  were murdered including Muylaysia Booker of Dallas and and Michelle Tamika Washington of Philadelphia.

This has been heartbreaking and I am devastated one of the girls murdered was from Philadelphia. The same city I am from and now I know the summer is coming up and  I know people who are violent and transphobic and like to harass bully or beat on transgender women get hot and crazy in the summer and I don’t want to get hurt or die. I need to move out of this city. 

The funds will all be for helping me get a moving truck. Helping me secure the first last and security deposits needed and gasoline for me and my wife to move out of our house and move out of the city to a safer more relaxed city as homicides more and more increase year after year with many black transgender women being killed. I fear for my safety and appreciate all the help I can get to move out of the city. Thank you so much
