Help me attend NYLF Pathways to STEM Program

Hello. My name is Elena Padilla. I am a 4th grade student at Marie Hughes Elementary School and have been nominated to represent my school and community at the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Pathways to STEM, an Envision by World Strides Program at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. By attending NYLF this summer, I will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential Leadership program.

I am truly excited to attend this science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) Program. My teacher Mrs. Olivas nominated me for demonstrating maturity, independence, scholastic merit, and leadership potential. I am honored to be selected to represent my school. As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with respected professionals in various fields while building relationships with other kids my age who will be my future colleagues. Attending this program will allow me to learn new things about STEM pathways which include Medicine, Engineering, and CSI. Two of my favorite subjects in school are science and mathematics. This program will further my interest in science and new strategies in math. I maintain good grades, am involved in dance, and was recently awarded a Certificate of Excellence from my principal for being an exceptional leader and demonstrating empathy.

I am fundraising to help with my tuition, lodging, and transportation costs to attend this program. Your donation enables me to acquire the leadership and life skills needed for my academic and future career success. I like this STEM program because I will have early exposure to things kids usually learn when they are older. Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life-changing experience when you were in school and were unable to participate for lack of funds. My participation in the program depends on my fundraising. I am investing every dollar I can of my own money to make sure I don’t miss out on this unique experience.
