Help Me Be A Mom Again
You’ve seen the headlines; Now see her story.
On October 12, 2019, the life of Latika McNeil (Tucker) changed forever. Prior to that, Latika lived a life of promise and happiness with her two children (ages 7 & 1) with the loving support of her family. She worked at a local warehouse and as a part-time Caregiver which she loved doing. Latika worked so hard for her family that she was encouraged to take a break and go out for one night. It turned out to be a night that she loved to forget. The night that a drunk driver drove an SUV into a group of people which killed cousin and left Latika's kids to walk by themselves.
After being plowed over by an SUV at the local gas station, Latika is left to learn how to stand and walk because of lacerations to her hands and face and multiple injuries to her hip, back and legs. She is in constant pain and not even able to lift her son into her arms as she used to.
"I keep a smile on my face and try to heal quick so that I can take care of my kids. They are what keeps me going"
Doctors say it may take up to 6 months to recover. That is 6 months of no income but bills still coming in. This is a young mother that has been a helper to everyone around her. Now it is time for her community to help her.
Any donation will help. Medical expenses, physical therapy, childcare, housing, etc. Your donation will help a mother still take care of her family.
All donations are tax deductible in care of the C3 Family & Youth Services of North Carolina
