Help Me Become A Certified Fraud Examiner
Donation protected
My name is Melissa Schwartz. For over 20 years I have been an insurance professional in the financial lines area, with a concentration in Fidelity Bonds and Commercial Crime.
In September of 2017, I was part of a reduction in force at the company I had been with for over twelve years. This was the best job in my career, so far. To say that being let go from this job was heartbreaking is a gross understatement because it was more than just a job.
Since the reduction in force, I have been actively looking for a new position within the insurance industry for close to eighteen months. It’s not been easy. My reality is that I am an unemployed single mom on a tight budget.
Because my career has been focused in a highly specialized area, it has proven to be more challenging than I ever imagined to find a new job. Along the way I have explored opportunities outside of insurance. That too is easier said than done.
I have decided that to better position the skills and experience I have to offer I want to study to become a certified fraud examiner and take the CFE exam. Earning this certification will help my resume get through more diverse online job application algorithms. I am desperately trying to broaden my skills.
Asking for financial assistance from colleagues and peers is way outside of my comfort zone. However, I can no longer do this on my own. Anything you can do to help me raise the funds for the prep course and exam is greatly appreciated.
1. The membership fee for the ACFE ($195)
2. Prep Course ($995 non-member / $795 member)
3. Exam ($400 non-member / $300 member)
All in I would like to raise at least $1,400. Any amount over that will be used towards additional materials and/or ongoing CPE to maintain my membership and certification.
