Hello, my name is Thomas Cavasos. For the past few years, I've applied for housing and sought assistance, and have yet to find housing that meets my needs. I'm disabled, living on the streets with my loyal support animal, and struggling to find a way out of this cycle of homelessness.
The reality is that affordable, safe, and wheelchair-accessible housing simply doesn't exist for someone in my position. But I've realized there's a sustainable, long-term solution that can provide not just a roof over my head but true stability: purchasing a small piece of land, building a tiny home, and creating a year-round greenhouse to grow my own food.
As an experienced gardener, I have the skills and knowledge to live sustainably and independently. With a small investment in land and a home, I can create a space where I can thrive--growing food, reducing costs, and ensuring stability for the rest of my life.
This isn't just a way to escape my current homelessness; it's a plan to build a permanent foundation for the future. With your support, I can turn this dream into a reality and finally have a safe, accessible, and sustainable place to call home.

Important note: My friend Kim, who lives near me and with whom I chat a few times a week, is posting this fundraiser and is raising funds on my behalf. Since I don't currently have a permanent address, I cannot directly receive funds as a beneficiary, given GoFundMe's current requirements. Kim will be sending me your donations on a monthly basis via e-transfer, and will be providing updates on my plans to purchase my tiny home or trailer.
Our fundraiser will be running for a year. If we do not reach our goal or do not make enough money to purchase a tiny home by then, my plan is to buy a trailer instead. But I really, really hope that with your help I can fulfill my dream. Thank you again!
