Help me build the Comic Zine Database
Donation protected
Hi, Rick Bradford here. I'm the guy from the Poopsheet Foundation and have been building and maintaining the Comic Zine Database with help from the community for about a decade. Small press comics have been my passion for nearly 40 years and the goal of the Database is to document every comic zine that's ever been published (mini-comics, comic fanzines and related items). There are currently over 16,000 entries from the 1930s to today and the work is far from done. In fact, this is a project that will never have an end (an amazing number of comic zines are published every year!).
If this goal is met I'll be able to buy/upgrade the software the site is built on. This is something that's necessary (and way overdue) and will mean some aesthetic and feature improvements overall.
The rest of the funds, if the goal is met, will allow me to dedicate a solid 10 hours a week (at least) to the Database for a month or two. That will mean many more entries will be added more quickly. This will help me better deal with new/recent publications I've received as well as the backlog of material waiting to be added (10+ full boxes, donated scans and documentation, archived data from my own eBay/shop listings, etc.).
Under normal circumstances, the Database takes a back seat to bills that need to be paid. Meeting the goal will allow me to focus less on that and more on the important work of continuing to build the Comic Zine Database .
Thank you for any support you can offer!
