Campione ITA WingFoil: Attrezzatura Incendiata

Ciao, sono Leonardo Giovannelli, un ragazzo di 17 anni italiano specializzato in Wing-Foil racing, e ho bisogno del tuo aiuto.

Negli ultimi due anni, mi sono dedicato alla competizione nel Wingfoil, ottenendo il primo posto nella mia categoria Under-19 lo scorso anno.

Vivendo a Roma, ho affrontato la sfida di allenarmi spostandomi tra diverse località in base alle condizioni del vento. Per rendere questo più facile, ho conservato tutto il mio equipaggiamento da gara in una stanza di deposito di fronte alla mia casa per un accesso comodo.

Tuttavia, la tragedia ha colpito la mattina presto del 28/03/2024. Un incendio, causato da una pompa elettrica per gonfiare le vele che si stava caricando nella stanza di deposito, ha rapidamente avvolto e distrutto tutto il mio equipaggiamento.

Questo evento devastante ci ha lasciato a me ed alla mia famiglia sotto shock e disperazione, specialmente con la prima tappa del Campionato Italiano di Wingfoil alle porte.

A complicare questa perdita c'è il fatto che anche l'attrezzatura di kitesurf del mio piccolo fratello di 13 anni era conservata nella stanza. L'impatto su di lui, impossibilitato a praticare il suo amato sport, è stato altrettanto devastante.

Mio padre si trova in gravi difficoltà economiche in quanto ha recentemente perso la sua attività professionale e non può aiutarmi.

La notte dell’avvenimento, consapevole del dramma che avrei subito, si è gettato tra le fiamme cercando di salvare l’attrezzatura ed ha subito gravi ustioni. Purtroppo non è riuscito nel suo intento.

Con il campionato italiano che si avvicina rapidamente e senza mezzi per sostituire il mio equipaggiamento, mi rivolgo a voi per il supporto. Ogni donazione, per quanto piccola, ci aiuterà a ricostruire e tornare in acqua. La tua generosità non solo mi consentirà di competere, ma riporterà anche gioia a mio fratello.

In the last two years, I've dedicated myself to competing in Wingfoil, achieving first place in my Under-19 category last year. Living in Rome, I've faced the challenge of training by moving between different locations depending on the wind conditions. To make this easier, I've kept all my racing gear in a storage room in front of my house for convenient access.

However, tragedy struck early in the morning of 28/03/2024. A fire, caused by an electric pump for inflating sails that was charging in the storage room, quickly engulfed and destroyed all my gear. This devastating event has left me and my family in shock and despair, especially with the first leg of the Italian Wingfoil Championship just around the corner.

Compounding this loss is the fact that my little brother, aged 13, also had his kitesurfing equipment stored in the room. The impact on him, unable to practice his beloved sport, has been equally devastating.

My father is facing severe financial difficulties as he recently lost his livelihood and cannot assist me. On the night of the incident, aware of the tragedy that would befall us, he threw himself into the flames trying to save the equipment and suffered severe burns. Unfortunately, he was unable to succeed in his attempt.

With the Italian championship fast approaching and no means to replace my gear, I turn to you for support. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us rebuild and get back on the water. Your generosity will not only allow me to compete but also bring joy to my brother.
