Help Me Conquer the Lakeland100 and Support The TAAG Charity

Hi everyone,

I’m Mick Kearns, and in July 2025 I’m going to be embarking on the biggest and most challenging journey of my life - running the Lakeland 100, a gruelling 105-mile ultra marathon through the Lake District’s toughest terrain. It’s a challenge that will push me beyond my limits, but I’m doing it for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.

Recently, my son and best mate, Alfie, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Like many children with ASD, Alfie faces daily challenges, but his resilience and strength inspire me every single day. He makes me proud beyond words, and now, I want to make him proud of me.

This ultra marathon isn’t just about personal achievement - it's about raising awareness for autism, helping those who face struggles every day, and showing that no matter what life throws at you, with the right mindset, you can overcome anything.

I'm running this race not only to raise as much money as possible for autism awareness but also to send a message: no matter how tough the path may seem, there's always a way forward. And I want Alfie - and everyone else who’s struggling, to see that, no matter what, we can achieve great things!

The funds raised will be supporting Lancashire TAAG (Teenage Autism & ADHD Group) a dedicated charity that provides support, activities, and a sense of community for neurodiverse children and their families in Lancashire.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping to create a supportive and inclusive environment where neurodiverse children and their families can thrive and also helping me get to that finish line.
