Dear friends and kind hearted strangers,

I'm Afnan, a soon-to-be mother from Gaza. My heart is heavy as I reach out to you for help during these tumultuous times.

My biggest fear isn't the bombs. It's delivering my FIRST baby in a place that can't guarantee its safety. And As the due date approaches, the urgency to find a safe place to deliver my baby intensifies.

Our hospitals are overwhelmed and most of them are out of service, and the thought of bringing new life into this chaos is unbearable. In addition, I had a back injury and underwent surgery months ago. I need medical follow-up for safe childbirth without complications and in a secure place.

Staying in Gaza is no longer an option for us. The constant bombings and violence have made it impossible to ensure the safety and well-being of our family.

Since the beginning of the war, my parents, siblings and their kids, and I left our homes under intense shelling and sought refuge in the southern Gaza Strip. Miraculously, we survived repeated and heavy bombardment. The situation has become increasingly dangerous, especially with the scarcity of food and medical supplies.

We received news of airstrikes targeting my home, as well as the homes of my siblings and parents, causing partial or complete destruction.

My sister Lama, 16, said: “The sound of explosions haunts my dreams, and I wake up trembling, wondering if it will ever end.”

Raghad,a third year engineering student, said: ”I've always dreamed of completing my university education, but the war has put everything on hold. Each day, I yearn to return to my studies, to pursue my goals and aspirations.I long for the chance to leave Gaza, to escape this cycle of violence and uncertainty".

NOW, I fear for the safety of my unborn child and my all my family members.

My family consists of 12 adults & 10 kids. We have found a glimmer of hope—a chance to evacuate to a safer location in Egypt, However, this opportunity comes at a cost, one that my family cannot afford alone. Your generosity can help us secure the funds needed to embark on this journey to safety.

I the meanwhile, I just seek to evacuate them from Gaza, I only ask for HALF of the amount I have to pay at this point:

- Egyptian Travel agency fees:

The only Egyptian travel company that has the appropriate security clearance charges USD 5,000- 7000 per adult and USD 2,500 per child. We are 12 adults & 10 children; About USD (97,000).

- GoFundMe site fees:

I will need to pay the platform’s fees (2.9% + $0.30 per each donation). This means that I will need to deduct an estimated 2500 USD of the entire donated amount.

- Transfer fees:

I will also need to account for all transfer fees to deliver the money to Egypt by my sister abroad and pay the full amount in cash. I estimate that this will cost another USD 2000

In total, I will need about USD (100,000) just to escape the war and evacuate Gaza, without other expenses. NOW I’m asking for $60,000

Every dollar counts and will make a significant difference in ensuring the well-being of my unborn child and my loved ones.

مرحباً جميعاً،

معكم أفنان وأنا على وشك أن أصبح أماً للمرة الأولى، وقلبي مثقل وأنا أتواصل معكم لمساعدتنا في هذه الظروف الصعبة.

خوفي الأكبر ليس الصواريخ، بل ولادة طفلتي في مكان لا يضمن لها الأمان، ويفتقر للرعاية الطبية لها ولي خاصة أني خضعت لعملية جراحية لكسر في فقرة بظهري قبل أشهر، وأحتاج لرعاية طبية خاصة للولادة بدون مضاعفات.

لم يعد البقاء في غزة لي ولعائلتي خياراً، فكل فرد منا خسر أحلاماً وممتلكات وأقارب في هذه الحرب. خرجت وأخوتي وأطفالهم من منازلنا منذ بداية الحرب مكرهين لجنوب غزة تحت وابل القصف والصواريخ، ونجونا من القصف المتكرر والعنيف والوضع يزداد خطورة خاصة مع ندرة المواد الغذائية والإمدادات الطبية. كما وصلتنا أنباء عن أن الغارات الجوية تسببت في تدمير منازلنا جزئياً أو كلياً.

تقول شقيقتي لمى ذات ١٦ عاماً: "صوت الانفجارات يطارد أحلامي، وأستيقظ مرتجفة، وأتساءل عما إذا كانت الحرب ستنتهي يوماً".

وتقول أختي رغد وهي طالبة هندسة في سنتها الثالثة: "لطالما حلمت بإكمال دراستي الجامعية، لكن الحرب أوقفت كل شيء. كل يوم، أتوق إلى العودة إلى دراستي، لمتابعة أهدافي وتطلعاتي. أشتاق إلى فرصة مغادرة غزة، للهروب من الحرب وإكمال مسيرتي وأحلامي".

تتكون عائلتي من 12 شخصًا بالغًا و10 أطفال. وفرصة الخروج الوحيدة هي عن طريق معبر رفح إلى مصر ولكن التكلفة مرتفعة جداً ولا نستطيع تحملها بمفردنا.

وفي هذه الأثناء، أسعى فقط إلى إجلائهم من غزة، وأطلب في هذه المرحلة فقط (نصف) المبلغ الذي يجب أن أدفعه:

- رسوم وكالة السفر المصرية:

شركة السفر المصرية الوحيدة التي لديها التصريح الأمني ​​المناسب تتقاضى رسومًا تتراوح بين 5000 إلى 7000 دولار أمريكي لكل شخص بالغ و2500 دولار أمريكي لكل طفل. نحن 12 بالغًا و10 أطفال؛ حوالي دولار أمريكي (97,000).
