*Help us save the lives of my mother and my children: a story of healing and survival hope**
My name is Moaz Ahmed. I am writing to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help to save the life of my mother, Adla Matar, who is 62 years old and a grandmother to five of my children. She was diagnosed with severe visual impairment in her right eye due to a venous thrombosis. She also suffers from a tumor behind the left eyeball. She was previously treated in the Arab Republic of Egypt several years ago, but despite her strength and determination, she now needs your help to get the treatment she desperately needs.
After October 7th she continued to fight bravely and continued to be the loving grandmother and dedicated mother that everyone loved. But due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, her access to vital medical treatment was severely limited. She had gone seven long months without receiving the necessary treatment, and her condition had rapidly deteriorated.
Today I am weaving a story full of pain, woven with the dreams and struggles of my children and my wife with their grandmother. My children: Mahmoud, Muhammad, Reda, Habiba, and Siwar, reflect the invincible human spirit amid adversity.
In the heart of the conflict, my family and I found myself navigating the ravages of war, forcing us to make the painful choice to leave our home in search of safety.
Mahmoud and Mohamed, who were interested in football, found their dreams thwarted by the ravages of war. Reda, who aspires to continue her education, has faced similar obstacles, while Habiba, who longs for a future free of fear, grapples with the harsh reality of her beloved Gaza.
Today, I extend my hand to you, driven by an unwavering determination to forge a path toward a brighter tomorrow for all of us.
My ambition is to move my family to a place where we can rebuild our lives, treat my sick mother, and free ourselves from the specter of conflict that casts its shadow over our dear Gaza. To make this journey, I humbly ask for your support through our fundraising endeavors.
Help us leave Gaza before the imminent attack on Rafah. This represents our only chance to survive.
My mother's journey for treatment and my children's survival requires crossing the border into Egypt, which is a dangerous and expensive challenge. We need $5,000 per person to cross—my mother, wife, and children. In addition, we need additional costs to cover medical expenses and accommodation in Egypt after their arrival. The total we need is $20,000. Without this help, my mother, children and wife have very little chance of survival
Your compassion and generosity are deeply appreciated by my mother and my children Mahmoud, Muhammad, Reda, Habiba and Siwar.
With sincere gratitude,
