Justice for Andrew

On the early morning of the 5th of September Andrew was discovered in the trunk of his burning vehicle in a parking lot of a distribution center in N.E. Portland Oregon It was later determined he had been stabbed multiples times before being placed in the trunk and the car being set ablaze. He was burned beyond recognition. As you can imagine it was his mother's worst nightmare coming to fruition. In fact it is anyone's nightmare to have someone you love discovered this way.

The assailant or assailants are still at large. Although the police don't appear to believe the public is at risk Andrew's mother worries that if they would do this to her son no one is safe with the perpetrator/perpetrators still on the loose.

Who is Andrew you may ask?

I guess it really depends on who you ask really.

Andrew Hathaway age 28.

A big hearted young man cut down in his prime by unknown assailant or assailants. He is survived by his loving mother who is beside herself with grief and a burning desire to do everything she can to be his voice and keep the story of his life and tragic death in forefront of the public's mind to bring justice to her only child, his father who was recently reintroduced into Andrews life who desired nothing more than the time and opportunity to build a relationship with Andrew, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, cousins and friends.

Andrew had his share of challenges growing up. His father was absent for most of his childhood and his single mom tried to raise him well during his father's absence. She married another man who turned out to be not so good of an influence on this impressionable young man. After his mom's marriage ended in divorce Andrew began to rebel and make some bad choices and he suffered the consequences of his choices.

Through these trials and tribulations of trying to raise Andrew his mom tried hard to keep him focused and on a good path but as Andrew grew into a young man she has less and less influence over his choices. She worried his choices would get him in trouble. Perhaps big trouble.

Now I tell you these things not to give you a bad impression of this young man but because in truth Andrew could be anyone's son. He is not to be vilified. Our country is in crisis. Many parents and families are going through the horrors of losing their loved ones to the Opioid epidemic. Most are dying of overdose but the numbers that are not mentioned as much are the ones who are dying because of the crime and violence that goes hand in hand with the opioid black market.

Andrews family and friends ask you to join our mission to spread the word, sharing his story on social media, with friends and family, and anything else you can do to share his story.

Prayers are greatly appreciated

Donations will be used for final expenses and his mother's mission to find justice for Andrew.
