Help me follow my dream at the American Ballet

I am happy to have received so much support with this campaign, which has allowed me to achieve the immediate goal of attending the American Ballet Theater intensive in New York. THANK YOU.

Given the ongoing interest on the project and the messages of support that I continue to receive, we have been advised to leave the campaign open, so that additional contributions can go towards the costs of training, equipment and living expenses in Madrid while I continue my year-round training at the Mariemma Conservatory. Keeping always in mind the goal of one day aspiring to dance at the American Ballet Theatre.

This adventure does not end here, the journey to becoming a professional dancer is not a sprint but a marathon, one where you have to continue working and taking another step each day.

Dado el interés que ha suscitado este proyecto y los mensajes de apoyo que sigo recibiendo, hemos decidido dejar abierta la campaña, de manera que las contribuciones adicionales se destinen a los gastos de formación, material, manutención y estancia en Madrid mientras continúo mi formación en el Conservatorio Mariemma el próximo curso, siempre con el objetivo de un día aspirar a bailar en el American Ballet Theatre.

Esta aventura no termina aquí, el camino hacia convertirme en bailarina profesional no es un sprint sino un maratón, en el que hay que seguir trabajando y avanzando cada día.

Hello, my name is Carla, I’m fourteen years old and I have been dancing since I was three. I was born in New York and at five years old I moved to Mallorca with my mom and two sisters. Classical ballet is my life, nothing makes me happier. I need your help to cover tuition and travel expenses to attend the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in New York City, from June 24 to July 26, 2024.

Since I was little, I have dreamed of dancing at the American Ballet, a dream that little by little is getting closer since last year, through their Summer Intensive, they made me an offer to study at the ABT/JKO school year-round.

Due to our family situation, and the complicated logistics to move to New York at my young age, sadly I was not able to accept the invitation. But yet I was lucky enough to receive another offer to go to Mariemma, the Royal Conservatory of Professional Dance in Madrid, where I am currently training and living with a host family.

My goal is still ABT, where my heart is, and for that I need to keep learning at the Conservatory in Madrid while nurturing the relationship with the American Ballet Theatre through their summer intensives, in the hopes of attending the school and moving to New York when the time is right. I have auditioned again and have been accepted to the five-week intensive. But the cost of tuition, travel and living expenses equals a full year at Mariemma and my family struggles to afford both.

ABT is the dream, to become a professional ballerina, dance on stage and share my journey, my story, and my joy of dancing. The first step toward my goal is right at the tip of my fingers, at the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive. Your donations will allow me to follow this path and pursue my dream.

American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive has earned a reputation for being one of the top ballet programs in the world. It offers masterclasses and top-quality teachers who focus on developing well-rounded dancers through exposure to a wide variety of disciplines with an emphasis on classical ballet technique.

Hola, me llamo Carla, tengo 14 años y llevo bailando desde los tres. Nací en Nueva York y a los cinco años me mudé a Mallorca con mi madre y mis dos hermanas. El ballet clásico es mi vida, nada me hace más feliz. Busco ayuda para cubrir los gastos de matrícula y viaje y asistir al intensivo de verano del American Ballet Theatre en Nueva York, del 24 de junio al 26 de julio de 2024.

Desde pequeña he soñado con bailar en el American Ballet, un sueño que poco a poco se hace más cercano ya que el año pasado, a través de su intensivo de verano, me ofrecieron estudiar en la ABT/JKO School. Debido a nuestra situación familiar y la complicada logística para mudarme a Nueva York a mi corta edad, tristemente tuve que renunciar a la plaza. Tuve la suerte de recibir otra propuesta para estudiar en el Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma de Madrid, donde ahora me encuentro, viviendo con una familia de acogida.

Mi objetivo sigue siendo ABT y para ello tengo que seguir aprendiendo en el Conservatorio de Madrid y a la vez mantener la relación con el American Ballet Theatre a través de sus cursos de verano, con la idea de entrar en la escuela y dar el salto a Nueva York cuando sea el momento adecuado. He audicionado de nuevo y me han aceptado en el intensivo de cinco semanas, pero el coste de la matrícula, viaje y estancia equivalen a un año completo en Mariemma y es un doble gasto difícil de afrontar para mi familia.

ABT es mi sueño, convertirme en bailarina profesional, subirme a un escenario y compartir mi viaje, mi historia y la alegría de bailar. El primer paso hacia mi objetivo está al alcance de mi mano: el American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive. Tu ayuda me permitirá seguir este camino y mantener vivo mi sueño.

El intensivo de verano del American Ballet Theatre es considerado uno de los mejores programas de ballet del mundo. Ofrece clases magistrales y profesores de alto nivel dedicados a formar bailarines completos a través de la enseñanza de una amplia variedad de disciplinas con énfasis en la técnica del ballet clásico.
