Help Me Fund My First Feature, Figmental State!

I need your help to fund my first feature-length film as a director, "Figmental State"!

 

 

Who Am I?

My name is Roberto Espinosa, and I'm a filmmaker. Been one since high school. Have made several short films over the years and written several screenplays. 

 

My new endeavor is one called Figmental State, which tells the story of a homeschooled, isolated youth named Mike who, with his imaginary friend, Stan, finds himself wanting to find a personal connection with someone. Enter Jane, a spunky girl who attempts to break him out of his shell, all to the resentment of Stan and the beginning of the end for two best friends.

 

 

What We Need & What You Get

I plan to make this film for $20,000, enough to cover every side of production and postproduction. This will include the cast, crew, catering, locations, editing, etc. I plan to negotiate the best pay for the crew members and pay the cast appropriate wages, which may be much but will all be worth it in getting the best performances out of my actors.

 

The film will be shot in the suburbs in DuPage County, about an hour from Chicago, IL. 

 

 

Whether big or small, every donation will guarantee your name in the Special Thanks during the end credits.

 

 

Why I Want to Tell This Story

I plan to tell this story for young audiences and anyone who has ever felt like they've been in a similar situation. Especially those who grew up with autism or anything similar on the spectrum. I want to capture a moment where people decide who it is they want to be going further.

 

 

Risks & Challenges

While I've never tackled a film of this magnitude before, I believe I can go through it as I have with several other works. I've found that situations onset work well with what I'm given. I plan to use every resource that got me here and use it.
