Help me fund my new Short Horror Film, ABIGAIL

Donation protected

Hey all,

Thank you for your interest in my films and my filmmaking journey.

Even as a child I loved movies. My parents would take me to see everything and according to them I would sit transfixed in a theater when the lights came down and the images appeared on the screen. If I was too young to understand the story, the magic of seeing a movie was never lost on me.

It wasn’t until I was 12 when I finally started to grasp what filmmaking truly was. A relationship between the filmmaker and the audience. I saw Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter and I became cognizant of how the images, actors, music, etc was being used to manipulate the audience to laugh and scream and everything in between. It was then that I realized I wanted to make films. And while I’m a long distance in age from that twelve year old, I still feel that same magic when I watch a movie I like.

I’ve made short films in the past and over the past year and a half I’ve been able to make five short films, all different sub-genres of horror, and I’ve been blessed to be able to do with people who believe in me and enjoy working with me enough to donate their time and talent to tell these stories for little more than food and credits.

Which brings me to today. For my next short, Abigail, it’s proving to be my most ambitious film yet and I don't have a lot of time to make it. My deadline for completion, which means rehearsal, production (shooting it), editing, sound design, sound mixing and score is September 14th, which is just under two months. To tell the story of Abigail, it requires, special effects, props, costumes and a lot more time and money than I’ve had access to in the past so I’m asking for your help to get it made. Anything you can donate will be used to make Abigail happen. From the aforementioned special effects, props, and costumes, to feeding my actors and crew (and hopefully finally paying them something), to post production work, your donations will be put to great use. And with your help I will make something everyone can be proud of.

Anyone that contributes will be given a producer credit in the final film so be sure to leave your full name in the comments.

Thank you again, for believing in me and my journey as a storyteller.

With love and eternal gratitude,

Sean Mesler
