Help me fund my trip to the World Championships - Lima, Peru
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Leah, a 21-year-old clay shooter from the West Midlands. I have been competing in the sport of clay shooting since the age of just 12 years old, and have gone on to compete for Great Britain 8 times in the last 3 years, with the furthest I have travelled to compete being Changwon, South Korea. I recently won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Italy, and have won many medals domestically, and even internationally.
Shooting is not a cheap sport by any means, especially as everything has to be paid for by the athlete/the athlete's family, and all international competitions (including ones where you are competing for Team GB) have to be paid for by the athletes also.
I have recently been selected to compete at the World Championships in Lima, Peru, which will see me fly out on 1st October 2024. A lot of hard work, dedication, countless hours, and a lot of money have gone into my training which has ultimately led to my selection for Team GB. I am immensely proud of my achievement, and it is a reflection of the effort I have put into my shooting.
However, the cost of the competition (flights, hotel, gun permits, and competition entry) is quite expensive. Not factoring in the cost of ammunition (which will be £200 per 250 cartridges - I will be requiring 750 cartridges in total, meaning that I will be spending £600 just on ammunition alone), the competition will cost me £2500.
I have just finished university, and I am only working three days a week, so money is very tight, especially with the volume of training and competitions I am participating in domestically. Therefore, I need your help! I would be so grateful if you would be able to donate to my World Championship fund, and help me (hopefully) bring back the title of world champion! Any amount (no matter how small) makes a great difference, and would help me a great deal! Thank you to those who donate, and thank you for taking the time to read my story!
