Help Me Get a Used and Reliable Car

Hey everyone, this is my last resort because it takes a whole lot for me to ask, beg, etc. I’ve been on maternity leave since 2/8/22 so I have very little funds to help me get by. I’ve had my 2007 Mazda 3 for 4 years and I must say, the car has been good to me. I’ve kept up on repairs, got oil changes etc. About 8 months ago, I had spent $3500 to get the transmission rebuilt because it was my only best option at the time.
I didn’t want to finance nor could I get another vehicle because it was too costly. Anyways, thought I’d be okay afterwards being I only have around 143,000 miles on it but yesterday, the transmission light came on and it started slipping so I’m in this same situation again but with no money. It doesn’t make sense fixing the transmission this time since now I have two children. I really just need a larger and reliable vehicle this time to get me to where I need to go: Drs appointments, laundromat, grocery shopping, take my kids to the park and beach etc.
I’m not even going to mention my luck looking for a 3 bedroom apartment since we’ve been stuck in this 1 bdrm but if I could somehow raise enough money to afford a decent used SUV I’ll be eternally grateful. If you’ve gotten this far, thank you for reading my story because publicly asking for help was never something I was good at.
