Help me get an epilepsy seizure dog
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashton and I am fundraising for an epilepsy service dog and other medical expenses. I am 22 years old, at 18 years old I was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called IGA nephrology. If that wasn’t enough to deal with at my age, by 21 I started having grand mal and focal seizures. I had never had seizures before. After a little over a year I was diagnosed with epilepsy but we don’t know why. I am on a wait list to see an immunologist and genetics because my doctors and family believe I have an autoimmune issue that is causing my epilepsy. On a daily basis I ache and am pain all over, I deal with stomach pains and nausea. I was a manager at a restaurant before I began my journey with epilepsy. After over a year of working with my medical condition my hours were reduced to 4 hours a week and I was forced to resign. I have falls and usually do not know when my seizures are about to come on. It would be beneficial for me to have an epilepsy service dog to help me sense when I am about to have a seizure and help me when I am unconscious. As you probably know these dogs can be expensive, $15,000-30,000 and with not working and being able to find a job with my condition this will help my family obtain the things I need to continue a normal life the best that I can. Thank you to everyone for any amount of donations. This could really change my life while living with the unexpected.
