Help me get back to my Titi

Hi My names Mia, as you know.

The love of my life, my abuelita, is in the hospital after a stroke. She’s lost movement in the left side of her body, and currently my mom & sister are left having to do everything for her. Earlier this year we found out she has 3 splurting heart valves and that her life prognosis is very short.

this has been the hardest year of my life and it feels like it just gets harder.

I had originally planned on flying to Miami on August 10th, 2 weeks from now. My plan was to go to Miami for a couple of days, Costa Rica (because I’m still desperately trying to see the world as my vision declines) and then back to Miami for a couple months. I had planned it all out and saved up the appropriate money to pay for those travels.

But now, life has taken its course and has sped up the timeline of my Titis life. Because I bought basic economy to fly to Miami august 10th (over $ 1k) , the flight company will not let me change my flight to an earlier time or even refund me. Even in the case of a family emergency.

This year I have emergency flown to the states for personal medical emergencies and family emergencies so many times that my savings are at an absolute low.

The fact that I might not get to say goodbye or will only have 2 days with her before I fly off to my next location is eating me up inside.

It is torturous watching the love of your life’s body give up, while you are thousands of miles away.

I understand that it’s my own life choices that put me in this predicament. Living in Italy , I chose to be away from my family. But that doesn’t make my love for them

any less. I chose my own happiness which comes at a cost, literally

I am currently trying to buy a one way flight sooner to Miami, so I can get more days next to my Titis bedside. One way flights are about 1-1.5k to Miami right now.
