Hi, my name is Mitera. I am 33 years old and I have terminal cancer. I currently live in Belgium and I want to go home to Trinidad for the last time.

At the end of January 2023, I got the worst possible news: My high-grade, aggressive sarcoma cancer had spread to my lungs, all over my abdomen, back, and pelvis. The doctors are giving me a few weeks to live.

I have fought very hard during the past 18 months. Everything that medically could have been done, was done. In this battle, I have already lost my left leg, my right ovary, and a segment of my right lung. Now, I want comfort in my home country Trinidad & Tobago.

I have no health insurance in Trinidad & Tobago. For me to fly to T&T, I need a medical repatriation team to accompany me on the flight; it will cost us €35,000.

This fundraiser is to help me pay for that, medical bills, doctor appointments, and equipment that give me as much comfort as possible.

It is my last wish to have our dream Hindu wedding ceremony in Trinidad. To dress up as a beautiful bride and have gorgeous photos for my loved ones to reminisce on ❤️.
