Help Me Get the Equipment I Need to Stay Safe, Comfortable,

Hi everyone,

My name is Taylor Crowe, and I’m 19 years old. I was born with severe brain damage, quadriplegia, cerebral palsy, partial vision, epilepsy, vitamin D deficiency, and microcephaly. I know that sounds like a lot (and it is), but I’ve been defying the odds from day one. Doctors didn’t think I’d live this long, but here I am, fighting every day and proving that I’m stronger than anyone imagined.

As I get older, a lot of the equipment that keeps me safe and comfortable is wearing out or breaking. Some of it just doesn’t meet my needs anymore, and sadly, the social services won’t fund the new equipment that could really improve my quality of life. That’s why I’m reaching out for your help.

Here’s what I need:

A New Bed: My current bed was custom-made for me over 11 years ago, costing £10,000. It’s now in a very worn state and no longer fully supports my needs. Without it, I’m at risk of falling or injuring myself while I sleep.

A Comfortable Armchair: I used to have a special armchair that was perfect for me, but it’s been seven years since I had it. I miss being able to sit comfortably with my family in the living room, watching TV and spending time with the people I love. Being around them means everything to me.

A Portable Enclosed Bed: Because of my conditions, I can’t stay overnight at a family member’s house or go anywhere without a specialized bed that keeps me safe and secure. We found one that’s perfect for me – it’s enclosed so I won’t topple out, and it can be transported wherever I go. Unfortunately, it costs £6,000, and the social services have declined funding it. This bed would make such a difference, allowing me to see family, stay overnight safely, and even attend respite care, which I can’t do right now.

Your support, no matter how small, would help me get these essential pieces of equipment that would improve my quality of life so much. These items aren’t just luxuries – they’re things I need to stay safe, comfortable, and connected to the people I love.
