Hello, my name is Joanna, but many know me by my Polish name, Asia.
In September 2024, I made the life-changing decision to sell everything I owned and move to a small rural village in Ada Foah, Ghana. What I encountered here broke my heart.
Ada Foah is a village where poverty touches every corner of life.
- Children are malnourished and many are unable to attend school due to a lack of resources.
- There is no running water in the entire village and not a single bathroom.
- Many homes have no electricity, leaving families in darkness.
- Health issues go untreated because there is no access to affordable care.
The school in Ada Foah is also in desperate need of renovation.
- The classrooms have no electricity.
- Ceilings have holes, and water leaks into classrooms during the rain.
- Walls and floors are damaged and unsafe.
- There is no library, no proper storage, and no place for the children to sit and eat—they eat their meals sitting on dirt.
- Desks and chairs are falling apart, and the school has no bathroom.
Since arriving, I’ve dedicated myself to making a difference, but I can’t do it alone anymore.
What I’ve Been Doing
With my life savings, I have been:
- Feeding 112 children every single day.
- Paying school fees, providing uniforms, shoes, and supplies to give them a chance at education.
- Taking children to the doctor, covering medical bills, and buying glasses for those with vision problems.
But my savings are running out, and the needs are overwhelming. I cannot turn my back on these children, but I desperately need your help to continue this mission.
