Help Me, Help Us Fight School and Cyberbullying for Zoey
Donation protected
I'm Jessica, and with the help of God, I am reaching out to you during an incredibly tough time for my family and me. On the evening of Friday, October 25th, or the early morning hours of the 26th, we tragically lost my precious daughter, Zoey, at the tender age of 13 due to the devastating effects of school and cyberbullying.
Zoey, my oldest daughter, was a gentle soul who never bothered anyone. She had a beautiful smile, loved being around older people and animals. She was a little person who had a quiet, sweet spirit. Little children would cling to her and hug her from out of nowhere. We would smile and be in awe, and she would gently hug them back. Everytime it would surprise her; they would cling to her and wouldn't let go, as if they knew her.
She was incredibly artistic, spending hours creating and recreating arts and crafts. Despite her bashfulness, she was always eager to help anyone and did what was asked of her without hesitation. Her loss has left an unimaginable void in our lives, devastating us.
This October marks just one year since I lost my mother to brain cancer. As her only child, I bore the full responsibility of nursing and caring for her full-time for over a year, which led me to losing my job. Though I have since returned to work, it started part-time until I could work my way up to a full-time placement, which has been recent. Unfortunately, I have continued to juggle multiple jobs to catch up on what we fell behind on.
Now, facing the loss of my beloved, beautiful, smiling daughter, we are struggling to understand and cope with this heartbreaking reality. So many pictures and memories I have to go by of only 13 years, which is not enough time to reflect. I remember the kiss she gave me ever so sweet, right before going to bed to tell me she loved me. It just replays over and over in my mind. If I could only go back and rewind the time, I would do it over and over again to hold on to her.
We are committed to raising awareness about the impacts of school and cyberbullying to prevent other families from enduring similar tragedies.
Parents, speak up for your children. Schools, take control of this behavior. Children, talk to your parents or someone you trust. Never be ashamed of who you are or whose you are. I do not want another parent or parents to deal with the pain I am bearing.
We are humbly asking for your support to raise $5000 to help cover funeral and burial expenses.
I, this time, must bring awareness to those I know, and I am adamant about campaigns or support for anti-bullying. I have been to my daughter's school multiple times and have not had the help we needed. The only words were, "We are going to handle it," or "Things are okay now," but when we came home, it was another cycle, the stories were different, which caused me to go back up to the school and administration. Parents, family, and friends should not have to go through this type of horror.
At this time, any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and help us honor Zoey's memory.
Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with anyone you are in network with. Your support means the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for any help you can provide.
Thank you so very much for your generosity.
May God bless each and every one of you.
Warm regards,
Mommy, Jessica
